Astarte's Bio
An ancient snake-like parasite within a beautiful human host, Astarte is as power hungry and lacking in morals as the rest of her species. In her long life she has conquered many worlds, exterminated populations and enslaved those who survive, all the while posing as a benevolent fertility goddess.

All Goa’uld endow their hosts with exceptional strength and endurance and Astarte is no different, she may look like a delicate young woman but she possesses the strength of several men and is unlikely to go down easily. Goa’uld also heal their hosts at an accelerated rate, and enjoys perfect health.
Appearance:
Like this but in white, with satin white underwear and sandals.
Goa'uld choose their human hosts for their physical beauty, so Astarte dresses provocatively to show off her stolen looks. Modesty is not something that concerns her. Usually she wears a bikini-like ensemble made of gold coloured satin, (barely) covered with a diaphanous robe of completely see through silk. She sometimes wears a silver tiara and other personal jewellery but is usually adorned simply, wearing only a hand device and a gemstone held in a silver disc over her navel.
Physiology:
Astarte is a Goa'uld, a snake like parasite which in order to survive must take a host. Most of her species are genderless and usually adopt the gender of the host they inhabit, Astarte is a Queen however and therefore is regarded as female and indeed usually inhabits female hosts.
Goa'uld enter their hosts by burrowing into the back of the neck, wrapping themselves around the spinal column and inserting themselves into the host’s brain. Control of the host can vary depending on age and strength of the parasite, but it is usually total. Once within the Goa'uld can extend the host’s lifespan and maintain a youthful appearance both naturally (around 300 years) and through technological means (almost indefinitely).
Personality:
Astarte is as cruel and power hungry as any Goa’uld, but unlike many others she is exceptionally cunning. Instead of using brute force to subdue human populations her weapon of choice is guile and subterfuge, using the beauty of her host and manipulation to achieve what she wants. She is highly skilled in seduction and political manoeuvrings as above all she is a survivor, having navigated the treacherous world of Goa’uld politics for thousands of years. She is more guarded than her kin and although arrogant she tempers this with studied caution and careful planning.
Don’t be fooled by her kind demeanour and seductive ways though. Astarte is utterly ruthless and will stop at nothing to accomplish her goals. If subtlety doesn’t work she is more than willing to torture or mass murder her way to success and enjoy it too. She has the same utter disregard for the lives of others as the rest of the Goa’uld, she simply hides it better. Through her combination of brainwashing and manipulation, Astarte has almost never suffered a rebellion by the human slaves she’s ruled.
Astarte has a strong interest in technology, having her own research lab where she experiments and tests devices. From her early years she has pursued the technology of the Ancients and has amassed considerable knowledge over the centuries. Unlike other high ranking Goa’uld she is not afraid of getting into a fight, providing she is of course well protected, and more importantly likely to win.
History:
Astarte was spawned to an unknown Queen some 21,000 years ago, an offspring of the dynasty of Apep. Surviving through to adulthood was difficult even for a Queen in those days, but Astarte was strong enough to survive the battles in the spawning pools, grow to maturity and eventually take her first Unas host.
For thousands of years Astarte held the rank of a minor Underlord, building her influence quietly behind the scenes and surviving the brutal, cannibalistic wars between the System Lords. When Ra discovered Earth and humanity Astarte’s position was bolstered, as she was able to provide Prim’ta for the new Jaffa armies that spread Goa’uld power further across the stars. Sometime around six thousand years ago Astarte made a bid to become a system lord, but was betrayed by one of her own children and barely escaped with her life. Swapping hosts with one of her children, ‘Astarte’ was publicly executed by Ra and devoured, the real Astarte fleeing into hiding.
Remaining undercover for the next few thousand years, Astarte re-emerged in the centuries before the death of Ra, forming an alliance with Baal, providing him with symbiotes and other tribute. In exchange she was given a world to rule as her own and contented herself with quietly seeking technology to strengthen her power and through quietly replacing certain minor lords with her own children. Ever since her betrayal she has consciously modified her offspring, withholding genetic memories and moulding them to be loyal to her.
Astarte was better placed than most to weather the fall of the Goa’uld Empire. Her Jaffa were among the most loyal anywhere, mostly due to the powerful brainwashing she subjected them all to. Following Baal to Earth in her cloaked Ha’tak, Astarte has assumed control of the Trust following Baal’s death and now works in the shadows to build a new Goa’uld Empire with herself as sole ruler.
